I will be showing you some quick and easy HTML code which you can use in Squidoo lens.

When you at your Squidoo Dashboard page, you will able to all your’s lens with some features, what is the “stats” really mean and how it can help you to understand your lens better? I am going to explain each individual function to you now.

Rank: Current Ranking in Squioo, the lower the number the better!

“Star” sign: Average Rating received from other Squidoo lensmaster.

Visits : Total numbers of visitors to your lens within 7 days.

“$$” : Earning through Squidoo “Money Making” modules.

“Edited” : The last edited date for your lens.

If you wish to know the details statistics of your lens, click on the “stats” link, and you will get to see the following screen appeared.

This page is divided into 3 sections -

• LensRanks and Surfer Stats - You can get to know the current Lens’s rank and the higher rank achieved information. At the same time, you will be able to find out how many clickout (hyperlink to another site, if any) and howmany time your lens being email to visitor’s friends.
• Visit to your lens - Graph statistics to show you how many visitors per day since the Lens being published. You can click on any points in the graph to get the exact numbers.
• LensRank - Graph Statistics to show you what is your lens rank at each day since the Lens being published. You can click on any points in the graph to get the exact numbers.

Click on the “Traffic” tab and you will get to see interesting information and this is what we need to understand!!

You will see 5 sections appears on this page :-

• Lens Traffic : This is where you can set to view your traffic page from Today to 30 days.
• Visits : Number of Visitors to your lens (figure will change depends on your selection on “Lens Traffic” section) and Visitors till date since your lens being published.
• Traffic Source : This is VERY IMPORTANT information, which it tell you where your “customer” come from and which keywords (Lens tags) is used!!
  • Referral traffic comes from blogs, websites, forums and other lenses.
  • Direct traffic comes from browser bookmarks or typing in your URL.
  • Search traffic comes from people searching for a specific topic in engines like Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc.
• Referrers : If you have Referral traffic (based on the “Traffic Source” section), Squidoo will break down the details under here!
• Click Out : If you have hyperlink setup on your lens to divert your visitor to other webpage, if you show you each individual clickout numbers.

Last on the Stat page is the “Royalties” page. you will be able to view your Squidoo income here if you have “Money Making” modules setup in your lens.

After you have created you Squidoo Lens, you next task is to edit and publish it! I am going to show you some simple steps to get your lens publish in 30 Minutes!

1. Logon to Squidoo with your ID and Password. You will come to your Squidoo Dashboard Page. Select the Lens you wish to edit and Click on the “Edit” link.

2. On the right hands side of your edited lens, you will see “My Bio”, click on the Edit button, and start to put in information about yourself. You can also upload your own photo or any image file from here.

3. On theleft hand side, a “Introduction” section with your Squidoo titles is ready for your editing. Put in your contents and you can change you Squidoo titles from here. You can also insert an image in the introduction section (not more than 1MB). Click on the “Save” button on you are done with your editing of your introduction section.

4. If you click on the “Publish” button on the top right hand corner (next to “My Bio”) now. You will be getting the warning below. If you wish to continue publish your lens, you lens won’t be included in the Squidoo search results; that mean, your lens won’t get to view by rest of Squidoo Lensmaster. So you will need to continue your work to add more contents to the lens by following the next step.

5. You will need at least 3 contents modules (except the “Introduction” section) to make your lens in the Squidoo search results. Click on the “Add Modules” button on top the Introduction section and add 3 “Text/Write Module“(last option in the page). Click on the “Save” button to return to your Lens editing mode.

6. You will see 3 Text Modules appear on the Lens editing mode, click on the “Edit” button and start to put in a titles, subtitle and contents. The only restriction is not more than 2500 characters are allow to enter in each Text Module.You can also add an image into each Text Module. Once you are done with the editing of each text module, click on the “Save” button to save it.

7. Once you are done with the editing, you are ready to publish it and you will have your first lens up! You can view my example of a simple Lens from here.

If you are a newcomer to SQUIDOO, you should follow the step below to create a new lens with the step by step guide below:-

1. Login to Squidoo. If you don’t have an account registered with SQUIDOO, check out the details from my post here.

2. Click on the “Make a Lens (in just 5 minutes)” link to bring you to Step 1.

3. Enter a Lens Title. If you not sure what contribute to a good lens title, refer to my post here. Click on the Step 2 button once you selected you Lens Title.

Note: You can still change the Lens title at the later stage! so no worry if you are not sure on the Lens title.

4. On the Step 2 page, there will be 4 options for you to select. Choose the last option “I just want to do my own thing.”. Click on the Step 3 button to continue to next step.

5. In Step 3, you need to enter your lens URL. This is important, as it is just like your domain name where the search engine first look at. Read my post on how to select a Good Squidoo Lens URL.

After you select your Lens URL, you will need to select a category for your lens. The last thing is to select your Lens rating (G, R and X rating).

Note: Lens URL cannot be change once it is created. So be careful!!

6. You are almost done with the creation of Squidoo lens, You will need to enter few keywords (tags) for Search Engine to find your lens. You should try to use the long-tail keywords to promote your lens. Try to think from the consumer end, what would they type in Search engine when they try to find information on the Internet.

Enter a minimum 3 keyword for your lens as a start. You can enter up to 40 keywords (tags) at the later stage.

Once you are done with the keyword, enter the characters appears on the screen to confirm the creation of your lens (anti-spam feature). click on “Done” button!.

Yes!! you are done with the creation of your first lens and you can start to edit your lens! I will show you how to add different modules into your lens to start making money!!!

After you have Select you lens URL links, the next important thing is to select a GOOD Squidoo lens titles! This is always worth to take up a bit of time to research and decide on your lens title. If the Lens URL is your home address, lens title will be your house overviews, people will take a close look at your house (Squidoo lens) if your lens title sound interesting and attractive to them.

Here are some good lens titles:

Naming your lens is just like choosing your domain name, so you won’t want to make a quick selection without think twice!!

So, what do I means for naming your Squidoo lens? In Squidoo, once you created a lens, it will display the URL as

http://www.squidoo.com/your-lens-name.

 

For an example, you want to start a lens with the topic “Saving GAIA”, you could get your lens name as “savingGAIA”.

Top Choice

 

• http://www.squidoo.com/savingGAIA.
• http://www.squidoo.com/saving-GAIA.
• http://www.squidoo.com/saving_GAIA.

Most of the Search Engine, i.e. Google, Yahoo, MSN will treat the above 3 lens names as “saving GAIA”, so the contents will be the next consideration comes to ranking in these Search Engine results.

Worst case, none of the above lens name is available, what should you do? No worry, there are still quite a number of choice for you to select, some example will be as follow:

http://www.squidoo.com/HowToSaveTheGAIA (or with “-“ or “_” in between the words)

http://www.squidoo.com/SavingGAIATips (or with “-“ or “_” in between the words)

Before you decide on a name and lock it in consider the possibilities and alternatives. Type them out and then make a shortlist of the best candidates.

Squidoo is a Web 2.0 website, which means the majority of its content is created by its users - people like you and me. It’s an online social encyclopedia, with tens of thousands of user-generated pages called “lenses” on a vast range of topics. It is absolute free with no single cents needed to maintain your lens, you can create multiple lenses as long as you don’t SPAM!!

To start with, you need to register yourself via Squidoo as a Lensmaster. You can create your first lens immediate within seconds. To get your lens publish and visible to the rest of Squidoo Lensmaster, you will need to have at least 3 contents modules setup in a particular lens. Remember, the quality and updated contents will bring the visitor back to your lens (just like your blog or website).
